The National Gallery of Art (NGA) Benin City is at it again! As part of activities to commemorate this year’s Igue festival, the NGA Benin is organizing a second annual art exhibition aimed to add verve to the royal festival.  This year’s theme is entitled “ECHOES OF EDO LAND”.

In a press release by the NGA, the opening ceremony will take place on the 12th of December, 2012 at the Oba Akenzua ii Cultural Center, Airport Road, Benin City by 10:00am. Gate fee is FREE!

The statement said: “The ‘IGUE’ festival is an annual festival in Edo Kingdom to mark the end of year and the beginning of another. Being a national event that attracts foreign visitors, tourists and Edo in Diaspora, we are keying into it through this exhibition as Art is the representation of yesterday, today and tomorrow of the people.”
